Terms of service
The short version
- RoadQC points out likely issues in plan sets. It does not review, approve or seal plans; the engineer of record decides what to change.
- Only upload plans you are allowed to share. Your plans stay yours.
- We never use your plans to train AI models.
- You can see RoadQC free through a sample review of a public letting set or a free trial. The full version costs $2.00 per project sheet and $0.50 per bound standard sheet, with a $50 minimum per run, paid from prepaid credits.
The full terms below govern if anything here differs.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between RoadQC ("we", "us") and the person or firm using RoadQC ("you"). If you use RoadQC for a firm, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for that firm, and "you" includes the firm.
2. What RoadQC does
RoadQC reads plan sets and related documents and reports findings: possible errors, omissions, inconsistencies and departures from published standards, each with the source it is based on. Findings come from automated rules and, in the full version, an AI review.
RoadQC is a tool that assists qualified professionals. It does not provide engineering services, does not practice engineering, and does not review, approve, certify or seal plans. You and your engineer of record remain fully responsible for your plans and for deciding whether any finding is correct and what to do about it.
3. No guarantee that every issue is found
Automated review misses issues and sometimes reports issues that are not real. A set with no findings is not a set with no errors. Do not rely on RoadQC in place of your own quality control process or professional judgment.
4. Your plans and your right to share them
- You may only submit plans and documents you have the right to share with us. Plans for a client project usually belong to your firm and its client, so you need your firm's permission, and any permission the client requires, before uploading them.
- Public documents, such as letting sets on TxDOT Plans Online, may be submitted subject to the terms of the site you obtained them from.
- You keep all rights to your plans and documents. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide RoadQC to you, as described in the privacy policy.
- We use findings and your accept or reject decisions to improve RoadQC's checks. We do not sell your plans, share them with other customers, or use them to train AI models.
5. Sample reviews and free trials
We may run the full version free on a public letting set you name and send you the report. We may also offer a free trial of the full version on your own project; its scope is shown when you sign up. We may decline a request or end a trial that appears to be abused. Findings from public letting sets may be shown as examples on our website with project and consultant names withheld.
6. Full version and payment
- Price: $2.00 per project sheet and $0.50 per bound standard sheet in each run, with a $50 minimum per run. A standard sheet is a TxDOT or owner standard sheet bound in the set.
- Each submittal you run is billed by its sheet count, including later milestones of the same project.
- Runs are paid from prepaid credits, sold from $250. Credits do not expire while your account is open. Credits are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise or where a run fails because of our error.
- Prices exclude any applicable taxes, which are added where required.
- We may change prices for future purchases with 30 days' notice. Changes do not affect credits you already bought.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: submit material you do not have the right to share; try to access other customers' data; interfere with or overload the service; reverse engineer RoadQC's rules or software except where the law allows; or resell RoadQC without our written agreement.
8. Deleting your data and ending the service
You may stop using RoadQC at any time and ask us to delete your plans and findings by emailing hello@roadqc.com. We may suspend or end access for a breach of these terms. Sections 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12 continue to apply after the service ends.
9. Disclaimer
RoadQC is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
10. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to RoadQC is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid us nothing. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, delay, redesign, construction or change-order costs, even if we were told they were possible.
11. Your responsibility
You will defend and hold us harmless from claims arising from plans you submit without the right to share them, or from decisions made about plans that relied on RoadQC in place of professional review.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, tell active customers by email at least 14 days before they apply.
